At the launch of the new book by the writer Patrik Hartl, there was a couple that the present could not have noticed. Former Minister of Finance and Education Ivan Pilip came in the company of his significantly younger partners of Dominica, who apparently pregnant.
The meeting took place in the Prague area on the bank of the Vltava, where Hartl traditionally presents its literary innovations. Dominica, dressed in a gray knit dress with exposed shoulders, captivated with an inconspicuous elegance. The dress gently highlighted her pregnancy belly. Ivan Pilip arrived in a blue suit and a white shirt without a tie and looked relaxed, like a man who no longer reports political attention, but found a new personal peace.
New chapter
The couple first appeared together in public as early as 2023, when they attended the same event, the baptism of Hartl’s book, only in another edition. At that time, their relationship was only talked about. Many confused Dominica with her daughter, because the age difference between them is significant. Today, however, it is clear that their relationship is stable and that a child is waiting.

Politician, economist and father of three children
Ivan Pilip was one of the most prominent figures in Czech politics in the 1990s. He was Minister of Education and then Minister of Finance in the first and second government of Václav Klaus. After the disintegration of the Civic Democratic Party, he was one of the founders of the Freedom Union, and later he worked as a deputy and vice -government of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg.
From the first marriage with Lucie Pilip, former deputy KDU-ČSL, has three children: Tereza, Sylvia and Stephen. The couple divorced in 2014, after more than twenty years of life. Lucie Pilipová later withdrew from politics and was working in the non -profit sector. Children are already adults and their father often spoke of them as the greatest life of life.
After leaving politics, Pilip devotes himself to economic counseling, and also worked in projects of international development cooperation and finance. For many years he lived outside the spotlight, appeared only exceptionally in professional conferences. All the more attention was attracted by his return to social events alongside the new partner.
Family idyll outside of politics
At the baptism of Hartl’s book, both partners were very relaxed and natural. Photographers captured how they joke and act as a coordinated couple. Dominica did not try to hide anything and with a smile accepted congratulations from friends and acquaintances.
Ivan Pilip is already a grandfather, so the expectations of another child in his life means a surprising but joyful return to family happiness. According to his loved ones, he now lives alternately in Prague and abroad, where he is still working on economic projects.
The story of Ivan Pilip is a bit of a second chance. After a career full of political clashes and personal changes, he managed to find peace, relationship and soon a new role, the role of his father at a later age.
