Spaniard Juan Ayu, the Emirates team’s contestant, won the 12th stage of the Spanish Cycling race, beating his compatriot Khaiber Romo (Mofestar), today, Thursday, to achieve his second victory in this year’s race, while Yonas Vengard (Fisma-La Apick) kept the top of the overall standings.
Ayu, who won the seventh stage, accompanied Romo at the forefront after separating from the rest of the contestants at the last 25 km from the stage of 144.9 km from Larado to Los Corrales de Boulna, but launched a timely attack to bypass Romo near the finish line.

French Breu Roland (Groupama-FDG) came in third place by 13 seconds, while the Danish Financed finished the stage in peace in the main group that was late for the stage winner by more than six minutes.
Vingard maintained the top of the overall standings by 50 seconds against the Portuguese Joao Almeida, the Emirates team, while the British Tom Bidkok came as a QIO. 36.5 in third place.
