ITTF Addresses AGM Suspension, Focuses on Future Events
The International Table Tennis Federation provides an update on its suspended Annual General Meeting and outlines progress on key initiatives and upcoming championships.
The ITTF has released an update regarding the suspension of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the steps being taken to address the situation. As July begins, the institution is working to ensure the AGM can reconvene.
Due to the complexities involved,the ITTF has enlisted a leading law firm to manage the AGM’s continuation in full compliance with ITTF statutes and Swiss law,where the federation is based. An announcement regarding the date and details of the AGM’s continuation will be made quickly.
The ITTF has stated that resolving this matter is a high priority, but it remains focused on delivering its strategic plan and objectives. The Federation highlighted its activities in June as evidence of its operational commitment.
World championships and Development Programs
preparations are underway for the ITTF Centenary World Championships Finals London 2026, following accomplished qualifications at the ITTF Oceania Championships Christchurch 2025. The ITTF congratulated Australia, Cook Islands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, and Tahiti. A recent site inspection in London and the Regional Championships are reinforcing efforts to ensure an outstanding World Championships.
“While resolving this matter as our highest priority, ITTF remains focused on delivering the strategic plan and objectives entrusted to management.”
The ITTF has also announced preparations for future World Championships: 2027 in Astana, Kazakhstan, 2028 in Fukuoka, Japan, and 2029 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The governance has begun reviewing propositions and resolutions approved before the AGM suspension and will soon implement these decisions.
Development programs have progressed with training camps and participation initiatives across africa,the Americas,and Asia. The ITTF Europe Hopes Camp in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, was also successful.
