After three days of agonizing wait, the first identifications of three Italian victims of the fire that devastated the ‘Le Constellation’ bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, on New Year’s Eve have arrived. I’m the 16 year old from Bologna Giovanni Tamburithe 17 year old golfer from Genoa living in Dubai Emanuele Galeppini and the 16 year old from Milan Achille Barosi. The families were informed by the Swiss authorities.
Per Chiara Costanzoa 16-year-old from Milan, her parents had already abandoned all hope of finding her alive after days of searching without evidence, as her father declared in an interview with Corriere. And Attilio Fontana, president of the Lombardy Region, in a post on Facebook, expressed “the deep condolences of all of Lombardy and my personal closeness to Chiara Costanzo’s mother and father, her brothers, friends and schoolmates: an immense pain for a young life cut short too soon”.
According to the provisional toll, at least 40 people lost their lives, with around 120 injured. Among these, 14 are Italian. A very heavy overall toll, which could worsen as the hours pass due to the severity of the injuries suffered by the victims.
The identification of the bodies is complex, due to the heavy burns sustained.
Among the Italians they are still missing Riccardo MinghettiRoman, also 16 years old and Sofia Prosperi15 years old, also present inside the place that burned down on New Year’s Eve.
