Following the cancellation of the flights scheduled with Qatar Airways and the failure to re-route on alternative companies not operating in the Middle Eastern area, having evaluated all possible travel solutions which, however, did not guarantee the departure of the entire team in a single solution nor the arrival sufficiently in advance of the start of the competitions, the Italian Cycling Federation had to renounce participation in the first round of the Track World Cup in Perth, Australia. This is what we read in a note from the FCI itself, in which it explains that it considered that the logistical and organizational conditions to guarantee the trip do not currently exist. Considering the current uncertainty and placing the highest priority on the safety and security of athletes and staff, it was deemed necessary, with a sense of responsibility and for the protection of the group, to renounce participation.
