LOS ANGELES, March 18 (Xinhua) — NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Chris Williams conducted a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday.

The spacewalk began at 8:52 a.m. Eastern time and ended at 3:54 p.m., according to NASA.

The astronauts achieved the main objectives of this operation, which lasted approximately seven hours, including the preparation of the station’s 2A supply channel. This preparatory work will allow the installation of future deployable solar panels to provide additional energy to the orbiting laboratory, NASA said.
