Iran and Iraq Discuss Regional Security Following Zionist Actions

In a recent phone call, President Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani addressed regional security concerns in light of actions taken by the Zionist regime against Iran. the conversation, which took place on Sunday, centered on Iraq’s support for Iran and the need for a unified response to what both leaders described as aggression.
President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister al-Sudani for Iraq’s solidarity. He stated that Iran’s response was a direct result of aggression, warning of “even stronger and more painful repercussions” should such actions continue.
The President also emphasized the “Zionist regime’s long history of hostility towards Islamic nations-including Palestine,Lebanon,Syria,and Iran,” calling for a “collective and resolute response from the Islamic Ummah.” He cautioned that inaction could lead to further aggression against other regional countries, stressing the “past responsibility of all Islamic nations to stand united against these violations and blatant acts of aggression.”
President Pezeshkian urged all nations that value peace to oppose the actions of the Zionist regime. He specifically requested the Iraqi government to protect its airspace and prevent its territory from being used by adversaries.

Prime Minister al-Sudani conveyed his condolences to President Pezeshkian for the loss of life resulting from the Zionist attacks. He reaffirmed Iraq’s support for Iran,”categorically condemning the aggression at all levels.”
Al-Sudani lauded Iran’s response as “a source of pride,” characterizing it as “a legitimate defense of iran’s territorial integrity against a regime founded on occupation,crime,and the violation of nations’ rights.”
He further noted that the Iraqi government has filed a formal complaint with the UN Security Council regarding the use of its airspace for attacks on Iran. He said that Iraq is pursuing “ongoing legal, political, and diplomatic efforts” and is applying pressure on the United states and other nations perceived to have contributed to the aggression.
Prime Minister al-sudani assured President Pezeshkian that the Iraqi government would dedicate all necessary resources to support Iran,including intensifying efforts to control its borders and airspace.
