Ishan Kishan vs Karnataka: Vijay Hazare Trophy Highlights

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karnataka overcame Jharkhand‘s target of 413 runs thanks to Ishan Kishan’s blistering century.

Ahmedabad: Chasing a target of 413 runs against Jharkhand, Karnataka won the Vijay Hazare Trophy. After losing the toss in Ahmedabad, Jharkhand scored 412 runs for the loss of nine wickets on the strength of Ishan Kishan’s (125 off 39 balls) explosive century. In reply, Karnataka overcame the target with the loss of just five wickets in 47.3 overs. Malayalee player Devdut Patikal’s innings, who scored 147 runs off 118 balls, gave victory. Innings by Mayank Agarwal (54 off 34 balls) and Abhinav Manohar (56 off 32 balls) were also crucial in the win.

Mayank-Devdut combination has given a great start to Karnataka, which is aiming for a big win. Both added 114 runs for the first wicket. In the 12th over, Mayank was sent back and Saurabh gave Jharkhand a break through. Along with another Malayali player Karun Nair (29), Devdut added 67 runs. The partnership was broken only in the 22nd over. Karun is out. Ravichandran Smaran (27) and KL Sreejith (38) also returned with not bad performances.

Meanwhile, with Devdut out, Karnataka were reduced to 325 for five in 40.4 overs. Devdut’s innings included seven sixes and 10 fours. Abhinav – Dhruv Prabhakar (40 off 22 balls) added 88 runs to Karnataka’s victory despite the player’s return.

Earlier, apart from Kishan, Virat Kohli (88 off 68 balls) and Kumar Kushagra (63 off 47 balls) also helped Jharkhand. Shikhar Dhawan (44 off 79 balls), Subh Sharma (15) and Anukul Roy (13) were the other players who saw double figures. Jharkhand lost nine wickets. Abhilash Shetty took four wickets for Karnataka. Vidyadhar Patil and Shreyas Gopal took two wickets.
