Iron Man Helmet for Bikers: Radar & Display Tech

The helmet was created in collaboration with the company EyeLights, which specializes in head-up displays (HUD) and Bluetooth audio sets for motorcycle helmets. And above all, the head-up display makes the GT-Air 3 Smart helmet exceptional. So much so that it basically turns any biker into an Iron Man action hero.

Thanks to the display, the helmet offers the projection of driving data directly into the motorcyclist’s field of vision. The image is said to appear as if it were approximately three meters away from the eyes, in reality it is, of course, right in front of them.

According to EyeLights, the HUD can display important information such as current speed, navigation instructions, time or caller identity. And it can even alert you to the radar!

In addition, the technology supplier emphasizes security. They claim that a smart helmet can reduce reaction time by more than 30%. Since all data is projected into the field of vision, the biker does not need to monitor “alarm clocks” or perhaps a phone attached to the handlebars.

The projection itself is ensured by a nano OLED display, which should provide perfect readability in Full HD resolution even in bright sunlight.

The Shoei GT-Air 3 Smart helmet also offers other interesting functions, such as a high-quality intercom, compatible with helmets of other brands. The audio kit includes a microphone with active noise cancellation and supports both Siri and Google voice assistants for “hands-free” control. The intercom features both online and offline mesh modes, offering unlimited range for an unlimited number of connected riders.

In order for the helmet to work in smart mode, of course it needs energy. Its supply is ensured by a built-in battery, which according to the manufacturer should last for over 10 hours of operation.

The Shoei GT-Air 3 Smart helmet should be available in June next year, but it is already available in Czech e-shops. We found the cheapest specimens in stores with a price tag of CZK 15,836.
