Iran Regime Change: Shah’s Son Calls for Protests

Reza Pahlavi, son of the former Shah of Iran, on Sunday called on Iranians to celebrate the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following US-Israeli strikes with “songs every night” while remaining “safe”.

In Paris, demonstrators brandish flags of the Shah and Israel to demand the fall of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a statement in Farsi and English on “With his dishonorable death, and those of many of his henchmen and cronies, the Islamic Republic is reaching its last breath,” said the man who presents himself as a transitional figure.

“To the honorable and courageous people of Iran, the death of the despot of our time – although it marks the beginning of a great national celebration – is not the end of the road. Stay vigilant. Be ready. The time for a broad and decisive presence in the streets is very near,” he said.

“I ask you, while preserving your security, to show your satisfaction and support for the destruction of the Islamic Republic with songs every evening, and to shout your demands for the future of Iran,” added Reza Pahlavi, who also asks members of the Iranian diaspora to “intensify” their efforts.

In a column in the Washington Post on Saturday evening, he thanked Donald Trump for the attack carried out earlier and reaffirmed that he was ready to lead a transition of power in Iran.

He said it would only be a transitional role after facing criticism with some fearing he would restore a monarchy.

“Many Iranians, often risking their lives, have called me to lead this transition. I am impressed by their courage and I answered their call,” he wrote.

“Our path will be transparent: a new constitution drafted and ratified by referendum, followed by free elections under international supervision. When the Iranians vote, the transitional government will be dissolved,” he explained.
