Iran’s military’s central headquarters said oil and energy infrastructure owned by companies that have cooperated with the United States would be “immediately destroyed and turned into a pile of ashes” if Iran’s energy facilities were attacked.
This statement, which was reported by the Iranian news agencies “Fars” and “Tasnim”, was a response to the statements of the US president.
Trump said on Friday that the US had bombed military targets on Kharg Island, a hub for Iran’s oil exports, “totally destroying” them.
Trump said he chose not to attack the oil infrastructure on Harga Island for now. “However, if Iran or anyone else does anything to interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately review that decision,” Trump warned.
