Iran Nuclear: Enrichment Continues Even During War

by Archynetys World Desk

Iran will not give up uranium enrichment, the subject of dispute with the United States, “even if a war is imposed on us”declared Abbas Araghtchi, the head of Iranian diplomacy, on Sunday February 8, two days after nuclear talks with Washington, which is maintaining pressure on Tehran.

“Iran has paid a very heavy price for its peaceful nuclear program and for uranium enrichment”underlined Mr. Araghtchi during a forum in Tehran. “Why do we emphasize so much on enrichment? [d’uranium] and we refuse to give it up even if a war is imposed on us? Because no one has the right to dictate our behavior”insisted the diplomat.

The latter also assured that the American military deployment in the Gulf did not frighten his country. “We are a people of diplomacy, we are also a people of war, but that does not mean that we seek war”added Mr. Araghtchi.

SATURDAY, both parties considered the February 6 meeting positivewhere American envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner were present. However, Iran claims not to abandon its red lines while the United States, which has deployed a vast naval force in the Gulf, has strengthened its sanctions against the Iranian oil sector and issued a decree threatening additional customs duties to countries continuing to trade with Tehran.
