Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has deployed a new medium-range ballistic missile “Khoramshar 4”, DPA reported, citing Iran’s Fars news agency.

According to Fars, it is the most modern Iranian missile, which has a range of 2,000 kilometers and is capable of carrying more than one of the explosives.

Iran is also commissioning a new underground missile city at the KGIR Space Center, the agency added.

Tehran has announced a significant shift in its military policy since the 12-day war against Israel last June, shifting to a policy of striking first unlike his previous position that he was only defending himself.

The new missile aims to demonstrate the capacity to deliver a significant first or retaliatory strike, DPA said, quoted by BTA.

The US has long urged Iran to limit the reach of its ballistic missiles.

Tehran regularly announces the deployment of new weapons and successful weapons tests that cannot be independently confirmed.

According to official figures, the Islamic Republic has several types of missiles with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, which means it can strike targets in Israel and US bases in the Gulf region.
