A father in Texas managed to rescue his teenage daughter after she was kidnapped at knifepoint on Christmas Day, thanks to locating her through the minor’s cell phone, authorities reported, according to the New York Post.
The 15-year-old girl had gone out to walk her dog around 4:50 p.m. in Porter, about 40 kilometers north of Houston, and did not return home. Upon noticing her absence, the father immediately notified the Police and accessed the parental controls on his daughter’s cell phone to track her location, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Following the signal from the device, he found the teenager and the dog inside a truck, in a secluded and partially wooded area, almost three kilometers away from his home. A “partially naked” man was also in the vehicle, according to the police report.
