The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested the former worker of a recreational game room of Barcelona for having stolen 52,000 euros before being fired. The events took place on the day April 24 2025, when the workers in this room, located in the district of Sant Martithey saw that all the money from the collection was missing, but that the safe where it was stored showed no sign of having been forced. Furthermore, the alarm had not been activated either. Those responsible for the salon went to the Mossos d’Esquadra police station and filed a complaint.
The Investigation unit from the Sant Martí police station began investigations and was able to verify, through the recording cameras, that a former worker from this room had manipulated the safe and had taken the money. To carry out the robbery, he also decided dress up as Inspector Gadget to avoid being identified: he put on a trench coat, sunglasses, a hat, a mask and carried an umbrella with him.
His anniversary date makes him rich
Once the Mossos identified the man, the next step was to find out how he had taken the 52,000 euros without breaking anything. According to the investigations, the individual, days before being fired, he would have put his date of birth as the password for the safe and in this way he would have been able to open and manipulate it without raising suspicions or using violence. The day he committed the robbery, the man had everything planned: he arrived directly, He knew perfectly well where the video surveillance cameras were located. and he disabled them with ribbons or by opening the umbrella, with the aim of not being caught while taking the collection. Additionally, police discovered that the individual had also tampered with alarm codes to prevent him from jumping the moment he entered the gaming room.
However, the agents of the Sant Martí Investigation Unit arrested the Thursday, October 2the 39-year-old man as the alleged author of a robbery with force. The police have not yet provided the nationality or police record of the individual. The Mossos carried out a house search of his house and, during the search, they intervened 9,000 euros in cash. The detainee was brought before the judge on duty at the Barcelona Court on Saturday, October 4.
