This influencer opened a chicken rice restaurant with several colleagues. But unfortunately, this culinary business did not last long. Not even 1 year later, the restaurant finally closed!
Running a culinary business is not as easy as turning over the palm of your hand, especially in current economic conditions. In Singapore, it is known that many restaurants or other eating establishments have closed.
The cause could be related to operational costs, increasing expenditure on raw materials, or other considerations. An influencer in Singapore also experienced a similar fate.

Simon Khung or better known as Simonboy and actor Peter Yu are culinary business owners who ended up closing their restaurant. Simon and Peter are the owners of the Singabola Chicken Rice chicken restaurant located in the culinary center of Yishun, Singapore, reports Asia One (09/01/2025).
The restaurant is relatively new, not even a year old because it opened in June 2024. However, the decision to close the restaurant was considered the best way for the entrepreneur.
According to restaurant owners in the area, Simonboy and Peter started to stop operating their restaurants last October.
Not long after, through comments on Facebook, this influencer confirmed that his culinary business had indeed failed. “Yes, businesses fail or succeed! At least we tried,” explained Simon.
After discussing with his colleagues, Peter and Winson, they agreed to close the restaurant.
When he entered the world of F&B (Food and Beverages), Simon Khung realized that this industry was very difficult. Apart from thinking about profits, they also need to ensure that the chefs in their restaurants can maintain the quality of the food. Therefore, he encouraged everyone to always support local F&B business owners.
The food offered by Singabola Chicken Rice is various processed chicken, ranging from Singapore chicken Rice Ball, Steamed Chicken Rice, Roasted Chicken, to Chicken Noodle. Prices for the food menu there start from SGD 4 (Rp. 47,000).
In the future, Simonboy plans to focus more on the digital industry only. The closure of Singabola Chicken Rice also allows Simon to focus on other businesses he owns.
