The Lao Cai provincial Reproductive Support Center comprises four specialized units:
- General Administration Department
- Infertility Department – Premarital Advice – Andrology
- Department of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
- Department of Reproductive Endocrinology
Personnel have been thoroughly trained, practiced, and certified through 20 IVF cycles. The center also maintains a fully equipped team for emergency resuscitation, anesthesia, and mental health support. Cutting-edge equipment includes CO2 incubators, standard incubators, sperm storage tanks, centrifuges, frozen embryo storage tanks, ultrasound machines with vaginal probes, inverted microscopes, and a dedicated operating room cabin.
Early Successes and Future Prospects
In the initial month following its accreditation by the Ministry of Health to perform IVF, the Lao Cai Provincial reproductive Support Center, with the ongoing support of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Hai Phong, has already provided infertility treatment to 23 couples. Encouragingly,four of these cases have progressed to embryo transfer.
