Indonesian Government Offers Free Toll Roads for 2025 Eid Holiday
Jakarta – The Indonesian government, with the support of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), has unveiled a plan to operate 132.77 kilometers of toll roads without tariffs during the upcoming 2025 Eid holiday. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate smoother travel for pilgrims and holidaymakers.
New Toll Roads Included in the Free Ride Program
Of the total distance, 74.35 kilometers are new toll roads scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2025. The Deputy Minister of Public Works, Diana Kusumastuti, confirmed this plan in a statement to Tempo.co.
Four new toll roads set to operate this year are:
- Binjai-Langsa Toll Road Section 3 Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Brandan
- Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road Section Sicincin-Padang
- Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road package 1 2 (Klaten-Purwomartani Klaten-Prampanan segment)
- Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road, part of Section 2 (Kuala Tanjung-Indrapura)
Existing Toll Roads Included in the Program
In addition to the new toll roads, several existing routes will be accessible for free:
- Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 (Padang Tiji-Seulimeun) with a length of 24.67 kilometers
- Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road, part of Section 4 (Sinaksak-Pematang Siantar) with a length of 12.37 kilometers
- Jakarta-Cikampek II Selatan Toll Road package 3 (Sukabungah-Sadang Kutanegara-Sadang segment) with a length of 8.5 kilometers
- Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road package 1 (Gending-Kraksakan) with a length of 12.88 kilometers
