Zimbabwe got off to a good but slow start in the runchase. Brian Bennett and Tadivanache Marumani added 44 runs in 6.2 overs. Axar Patel broke the partnership by dismissing Marumani (20). Varun Chakraborty then dismissed Dion Myers for just 6 runs. From there, captain Sikandar Raza and Brian Bennett added 72 runs for the third wicket. Raza scored 31 runs off 21 balls including two sixes and two fours.
Sikander Raza was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 17th over of Zimbabwe’s innings. Arshdeep then dismissed Ryan Burl for 0 runs. Arshdeep then dismissed Tony Munyonga who scored just 11 runs. Mushekiva scored 7 runs and Shivam Dubey took the wickets but opener Brian Bennett remained at the crease till the end. Bennett remained unbeaten on 97 off 59 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes.
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza won the toss and elected to field first. The Indian team got off to a good start. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma added 48 runs for the first wicket. Sanju Samson was out for 24 runs. Ryan Burl was caught by Blessing Muzarabani.
From there, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma added 72 runs for the second wicket. During this partnership, Abhishek completed his half-century off 26 balls. This is the first time Abhishek has crossed 50 runs in the current World Cup.

Abhishek scored 55 runs off 30 balls including four sixes and four fours. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs off 13 balls including three fours and two sixes. Suryakumar’s wicket was taken by Richard Nagarwa.
