Philadelphia-The inventors of Car-T-Zell therapy have developed a variant that equips the T cells within the body with the chimerous antigen receptor (car). The in Science (2025; DOI: 10.1126/Science.ads8473) Displayed treatment approach uses the mRNA technology known from covid vaccines and special lipid nanoparticles.
The first experiments on mice and monkeys were successful, so that a first clinical study was started these days. Areas of application could be autoimmune diseases in which temporary elimination (deletion) of the antibody-producing B cells could stop the disease process in the long term.
