Ice Sculpture Win & Finding Freedom | Self-Imposed Liberation

The jury of the festival, which consisted of experienced experts, carefully evaluated each work and determined the winners in two categories.

In the category of team sculptures

1st place – “SELF-FORCED LIBERATION” (Altankhuu Khishigdalai and Enkhbat Damdin (Mongolia))

2nd place – “PORTRETA ILŪZIJA” (Inna Tkachivska un Ihor Tkachivskyi (Ukraine))

3rd place – “MIRAGE OF LINES” (Andres Rattasepp and Raigo Kannike (Estonia))

In the category of individual sculptures

1st place – “Viens solis” (Tautvilas Povilionis (Lithuania))

2nd place – “Weight of Illusion” (Evangelos Stafylidis (Germany))

3rd place – “MAYA” (I Made Sutama (Indonesia))

Visitors are invited to visit the 27th International Ice Sculpture Festival with a wide cultural program for the whole family today, February 7, until 10 p.m. and on February 8 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. More than 30 ice sculptures, activities for children, science shows, sculpture duels, illusionist performances, silent disco, free “hospitality zone” and concerts await visitors.

On Saturday, “Vintāža” and the group “Instrumenti” will take the stage, while on Sunday, the ensemble “Tandēms trijāta”, Normunds Rutulis will perform together with the Famous Riga Orchestra, and the energetic ethnomusic group “Tautumeitas” will close the festival.

Tickets can be purchased at “Biļešu Paradīze” ticket offices and online at www.bilesuparadize.lv. The ticket provides one-time entry on any day of the festival, and the stamp allows you to return on the same day if required.

The festival is organized by the city of Jelgava and the institution “Kultūra” with the support of the companies “Ramirent” and “Husqvarna”.
