Signing MOU with Seoul National University to implement software -centered factories

Hyundai Motor, Kia and Seoul National University join hands for manufacturing technology innovation.

Hyundai Motor and Kia manufacturing solution headquarters E-Forest Center announced on the 16th that it signed an MOU for the implementation of SDF at Seoul National University’s next-generation automotive research center with Seoul National University’s Precision Machinery Design Research Institute.

E-Forest is a smart factory brand of Hyundai Motor and Kia, which pursues the innovation of the manufacturing system by organically connecting everything to realize the value of customers. Hyundai Motor and Kia are aiming to innovate the manufacturing system and to upgrade the entire mobility industry by introducing automation technology and human -friendly smart technology using artificial intelligence (AI) and robots.

Under the agreement, Hyundai Motor, Kia and Seoul National University have decided to cooperate with joint research and development of core technologies for implementing SDFs.

Specific cooperation areas include ▲ manufacturing artificial intelligence ▲ manufacturing -specific large -scale language model ▲ foresight preservation ▲ digital twin ▲ simulation -based production optimization.

Lee Jae-min, managing director of Hyundai Motor and Kia, said, “We expect to strengthen the core technological competitiveness for realizing smart factories and accelerate global manufacturing innovation through cooperation with Seoul National University.”

Ahn Sung -hoon, director of the Seoul National University Precision Machinery Design Joint Research Institute, said, “We will contribute to the establishment of the next -generation smart manufacturing ecosystem by incorporating the innovative robotics and AI -based autonomous manufacturing technology into Hyundai’s global mobility manufacturing environment.”
