Human Trafficking Risks | Stay Safe

Mexico City, Mexico City. – The former mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas, responded forcefully to a threatening comment she received during a live broadcast on TikTok this Monday, January 5, 2026.

During the broadcast, the businesswoman read an intimidating message and replied: “It’s easier for you to end up in bags than for me. So stop threatening and, when you threaten, do it head-on. Or rather, don’t threaten, do things.”

Cuevas, visibly upset, proceeded to minimize the user, describing him as a “dreamer who thinks he is a hitman” and assuring that “they are pure laughter.” The interaction provoked divided reactions on social networks, with some users applauding his defiant attitude and others questioning the tone used in the face of violence in the country.

This is not the first time that Sandra Cuevas has been involved in risky or controversial situations. In May 2025, the former official claimed to have filed formal complaints against the Morena deputy, Ricardo Monreal, whom she pointed out as responsible for her safety.

Additionally, his public profile has been marked by media disputes, such as the one held with journalist Carlos Jiménez, known as C4 Jiménez, in September 2025, following a fatal accident during one of his motorcycle rides.

Recently, her image has also been the subject of scrutiny after being linked, through news portals, to alleged links between politicians and criminal groups such as La Chokiza and La Unión Tepito. In this regard, Cuevas acknowledged an “ephemeral” relationship with Alejandro Gilmare Mendoza, alias “El Choko,” leader of “La Chokiza,” but denied criminal ties and attributed the accusations to a constant “political beating.”
