Human rights are under attack worldwide, warns UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
He refers to extensive violations of international law and enormous suffering among civilians in conflicts in Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine, among others.
– The rule of law is being overpowered by the right of power, Guterres said when he opened the Human Rights Council in Geneva, according to Reuters.
– All over the world, human rights are being deliberately and strategically weakened. Sometimes also with pride.
