There was a lot going on on Tuesday evening in the Hotel Kniep when the annual honoring of blood donors from the castle town began. Exceptionally, “annually” in this context was not entirely correct, because last year there were so few blood donation anniversaries that the district association of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Oberberg was only now honoring the men and women to be honored. More than 20 women and men crowded around in the guest room of the hotel on Bahnhofstrasse, all of whom had already donated half a liter of their blood 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 or even 150 times.
