Huawei Watch: Luxury Gold Model Costs Over €3,000

A connected watch costing more than 3,000 euros with 18-carat gold? Huawei unveils its new model, the Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold. An ultra high-end model, available today.

Huawei is marketing a new very high-end connected watch from today. Called Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold, it presents itself as the little sister of the Huawei Watch Ultimate and Ultimate 2. The promise is to take the technical bases of a sports watch, while adding precious materials. Its announcement accompanies that of the Mate X7, the brand’s new folding smartphone.

A connected sports watch… and luxury

Huawei presents a new connected watch model available in a single color, purple in a “Royal Gold Edition”. The design takes the lines of the Watch Ultimate 2, but with more premium materials.

The watch has a purple ceramic bezel incorporating 18k gold, a liquid metal case and a purple titanium alloy bracelet. All in a fairly imposing format of 48.3 × 48.3 × 12.9 mm, for a weight of 80.9 g without the bracelet.

Three physical buttons surround the dial, two at the top and one at the bottom. On the sensor side, we find those present on a classic sports watch, a heart rate sensor, a barometer, a body temperature sensor, an ECG sensor, as well as a health overview available thanks to the TruSense system and the XTAP sensor. The whole thing works with the Huawei Health application.

The Watch Ultimate Design is equipped with an AMOLED screen with a definition of 466 × 466 pixels and a maximum brightness announced at 3,500 nits. The interface when you turn on the watch highlights a classic watch face.

This watch offers over 100 different sports modes, including golf, trail running and diving up to 150 meters. It even includes an underwater sonar communication function, allowing the exchange of messages up to 30 meters deep.

Certified 20 ATM, IP68, IP69 and IP6X for dust. The autonomy however depends on the smartphone used, in standard mode, Huawei announces 4.5 days with an Android smartphone, compared to less than 3.5 days with an iPhone. An energy saving mode nevertheless allows you to push the autonomy up to 11 days.

Finally, the watch includes an eSIM, allowing you to make cellular calls without a smartphone nearby, like on the Watch Ultimate 2.

The Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition is priced at €3,299 and is available now on the Huawei website.
