- Unlike their previous generation, they offer greater comfort, are more resistant to sweat, have a more skin-friendly design and do not completely isolate noise.
Finding the perfect headphones for training can be more complicated than it seems. Often, more traditional versions lack the modern water resistance or sweat protection technologies currently available. On the other hand, while TWS (True Wireless Stereo) models may be comfortable, there is a risk of them falling when running or jumping. In addition, when playing sports outdoors or in public places, it is essential to maintain attention to your surroundings, and improvements in noise cancellation can make it difficult to perceive what is happening around you.
With this in mind, Huawei presents new headphones designed to accompany both beginners and experienced athletes in their exercise routines.
A perfect ally for athletes
The new HUAWEI FreeClip 2 offer better ergonomics, fit and ear support that makes them ideal for training with sudden movements. Its design also allows you to listen to music and podcasts or take calls while still hearing outside sounds, while at the same time using sound leakage technology that does not allow people around you to hear your music or conversations.
For its design, more than 10 thousand ear models were used for testing, which allowed the fit to be improved by 12% with different types around the world. Likewise, new liquid silicone materials were integrated, which is friendlier to the skin, up to 25% softer, and has better shape memory to fit each one.
But the most important improvement when training with them is that their resistance to sweat and water improved significantly, since they now have an IP57 protection level, which means that they work better against rain and intense sweat. In the case of the charging case, it offers an IP54 level, so it can be exposed to water splashes.
An autonomy to not worry
The second generation of the brand’s open-fit headphones feature a notable improvement in acoustic quality, doubling their volume capacity. Also, one of its strongest points is the battery life, which now reaches up to 38 hours on a single charge. This duration exceeds that of its predecessors, the first generation FreeClip, and other models of the brand, such as the FreeBuds Pro 4.
To put this autonomy in perspective, 38 hours is equivalent to 2,280 minutes, which would allow you to listen to approximately 760 songs with an average duration of three minutes before the battery runs out completely.
With the latest in technology
The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 stands out for being the brand’s first headphones to incorporate an audio chip with NPU (Neural Processing Unit). Powered by AI, these offer ten times the audio and voice processing capacity of the previous generation.
To ensure voice clarity even in noisy or windy environments, the pair integrates advanced noise cancellation technology for calls. This is achieved through a triple microphone structure, which includes a bone conduction microphone and the application of advanced algorithms. Additionally, they feature adaptive voice enhancement that adjusts vocal clarity based on ambient noise, similar to the volume feature, without compromising the user’s ability to perceive what is happening around them.
Price and availability
The new HUAWEI FreeClip 2 can now be purchased in the HUAWEI Online Store. They are available in blue, white, black and rose gold, for $169,990.
