Reo’s cosplay journey began two years ago, sparked by her love for That Dress-up Doll Is Love.Inspired to bring her favorite characters to life, she made her debut at “Niconico Chokaigi.” despite being a complete beginner, the experience ignited her passion for cosplay, leading her to participate in events frequently.

It was my first time, so I think I still had a long way to go with makeup that resembles the characters, but I was happy that many people lined up for the shoot, and many cosplayers from my favorite works were seen. That kind of interaction was fun.

Currently, Reo cosplays two to three times a month, primarily at events like AnimeJapan and Acosta. She emphasizes the importance of interaction and community within the cosplay scene.

Choosing to cosplay Hoshino Ruby was a collaborative decision with a friend, Midorino (@midorino_o). Reo was drawn to the character’s vibrant personality and the possibility to portray her in Arima Kana’s uniform. One of the main challenges was perfecting Ruby’s signature side tail hairstyle, requiring careful attention to balance and positioning.

Ruby is a lively girl, so I was conscious of using my whole body to pose. you need to express yourself through expressions as a quiet character, but Ruby can express her through movement, so I think it’s right for me.
