Honor Magic V5: Design Details & Unboxing

Even before the official unveiling on July 2, the first hands-on impressions of the upcoming foldable from Honor showed up-and they speak a clear language: the Magic V5 combines elegant design with innovative features and promises a new reference in the premium area of foldable Smartphones to set.

A video published on YouTube provides a detailed view of packaging, accessories and technical finesse of the new model. In addition to a 66-watt quick charger and a USB-A-on USB-C cable, there is a functional protective cover with an integrated pole. The cleverly placed ring around the camera module allows the device to be set up in different angles – perfect for video calls, streaming or photography without hands.

The new foldable impresses with its slim silhouette: folded up, it only measures 8.8 millimeters, and even slim 4.1 millimeters when opened. Despite this dimensions, it weighs a weight of 224 grams – slightly over the official manufacturer. With protective cover, the total weight increases to about 253 grams. Despite the generous display and strong battery capacity, the device remains comparatively light and portable.

In terms of color, Honor relies on a courageous combination of red, black and gold, with the back part with an elegant synthetic leather finish and golden frame around the camera unit. The hinge area looks high quality and stable due to its three -dimensional structure. Thanks to a spring -based mechanism, the device can be opened comfortably and remains stable at 70 and 90 degrees angles – ideal for free -handed work.

According to rumors, Honor installs the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition, flanked by a 6,100 mAh battery that should provide long-lasting power despite the thin housing. The camera unit comprises three main sensors with 50 megapixels each; Some sources even speak of a 64 megapixel telephoto lens. There are two displays: a 6.45-inch outdoor display with a curved edge and an 8-inch internet display for tablet feeling in pocket format.

A possible IP68 or even IP69 certification should make the device particularly resistant to water and dust- a feature that has so far been rare in this device class. The Magic V5 also stands out in the resilience of other foldables.
