A worker was killed and two others injured after three gas cylinders fell from height and struck them at a construction site in Tsuen Wan on Wednesday afternoon.
Police received a report at about 1.34pm that the cylinders fell as they were being hoisted by a crane and hit the three workers at the site on Po Fung Road.
Two of the men, aged 29 and 40, were struck by the cylinders and rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung for emergency treatment. The younger man was knocked unconscious and was certified dead at 2.40pm.
A third worker, 50, sustained minor injuries and was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan for treatment.
Police said two of the cylinders that fell measured about 153cm (five feet) in length and 21cm (8.2 inches) in width, while the third was 100cm (3.2 feet) long and 25cm (9.8 inches) wide.
Authorities have cordoned off the site and launched an investigation into the incident.
