homburg Hosts Health and Prevention Action Day

christian Weber-platz will be the site of a health and prevention action day featuring 33 stands, offering data, hands-on activities, and entertainment.


The event, taking place on Saturday, September 6th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,promises a wide array of activities and information for attendees. Deputy Philipp Scheidweiler stated, “Whether exercise, nutrition, mental health or prevention – the numerous hands -on offers and information stands offer you the opportunity to discover new things, try it out and take impulses for a healthier everyday life.” He and Bettina Altesleben, State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of labor, Social Affairs, Women and Health, will inaugurate the event at 10 a.m.

Homburg lives healthy” has grown in popularity since its inception in 2016. Partners such as the Saarland University Hospital, the nursing support points, the German Red Cross, the Johanniter and the IKK Südwest will participate. New additions this year include the heart and paw of therapy dogs EV, SOVD OV Homburg-Saarbrücken, everyday care 4 You, dwarf pack and everyday helpers Saarpfalz.

The program includes advice and information stands, and also sporting hands-on activities. Visitors can explore topics like healthy eating, fitness, care, and mental health while engaging in interactive experiences. Entertainment will be provided on stage by groups such as the srutek dance school, Human Moves, Souvenir, and various line dance formations. The German Red Cross and the Pro Seniore Group will also be present.

Pugis (prevention and health in Saarland) and the Saarland Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women and Health are supporting the action day. Financial and organizational assistance is also provided by the Kreissparkasse Saarpfalz, the Dr. Theiss Naturwaren GmbH, and the Homburg municipal utility company.

“the Saarland lives healthy” is a nationwide initiative that has been successfully implemented in Homburg for many years. The goal is to increase awareness of healthy lifestyles and provide practical guidance for people of all ages.
