The alarm came on Friday evening that a landslide had occurred at an address in Rödbo, near Kungälv on Hisingen. The rescue operation took place during the night of Saturday, and according to the police, no one was physically injured.
– It is a minor landslide. It is a farm that is affected where half the barn has gone with it, says Lars Magnusson at the rescue service.
Resident on the farm about the horse: “Let’s see if it lives”
The avalanche dragged with it a barn where there were two horses, one of which is feared to have been pulled down in the debris.
According to the police, an area of approximately 4,000 square meters has slid.
SVT Nyheter has been in contact with a man who lives at the address, who describes that the situation is currently very unclear. During Saturday morning, several of his belongings were dragged into the landslide, he states.
– There is a tractor, wheel loader, two cars and a lawnmower, among other things. And the horse, let’s see how it goes if it lives or not, says the man to SVT Nyheter Väst on Saturday morning.
Warning to the public
The area is judged to be unstable due to the properties of the blue clay, and an area around it has been cordoned off. The emergency services and the police urge the public to respect the cordons, which may be extended during the course of the work.
– The apartment building is next door and is a bit unsafe there, it is at the edge where the landslide occurred, so it needs to be investigated whether it is safe to live there, says Lars Magnusson at the Greater Gothenburg Rescue Service.
