The staff of a north-eastern nursing home organizes a nightclub for people with dementia.

A Boogie in the Bar event will take place at Buckie's Royal British Legion.

Similar events for over-60s have had great success with the dancers of Aberdeen, Banff, Fraserburgh and Elgin.

The event is organized by the staff of Netherha Care Home.

The organizer Ruth Smith said: "The purpose of Boogie in the Bar is to bring the community together through music and dance. We have been at previous events in Elgin and Banff and I am very successful.

"We are pleased to bring Boogie to the bar in Buckie and promises to be a great afternoon of dancing and entertainment."

Boogie in the Bar will take place on Friday from 2pm to 4pm. Tickets cost £ 2 each.

The event will also raise funds for the Alzheimer Scotland Musical Memories, a singing group for people with dementia.
