HBFI: A Game-Changer in Irish Housebuilding

HBFI: Driving Irish Housing Supply with Bold Action

The Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI) continues to play a pivotal role in addressing Ireland’s housing crisis. Through strategic funding and innovative solutions, HBFI has made significant strides in boosting housebuilding across the nation.

Geographic Reach and Funding Expansion

HBFI has funded housing developments in 23 of Ireland’s 26 counties. Counties Leitrim, Longford, and Roscommon remain unfunded, reflecting minimal housebuilding activity in these areas. The state agency increased its approved funding from €1.66 billion by the end of 2023 to an impressive €2.7 billion in 2024, marking a 61% growth.
