The union wants to take the initiative in the functioning of the National Sports Center (NSC) association in Harrachov, it is currently planning to solve mainly the lease agreements and obligations of the NSC in the amount of 15 million crowns, which arose due to the start of work.
“I don’t know what Mr. Trávníček is based on when he doesn’t have any documents or materials at his disposal. He was never interested in them,” Mayor Harrachova told Novinky, adding that apart from one formal meeting, no one from the Union communicated with city representatives.
According to the mayor, Harrachov only did preparatory work and the city did not have any debt on the construction site. The reconstruction of the dilapidated K-120 bridge for 70 million crowns was suspended by the town hall due to a dispute with the Skiers’ Association after a month of work, and its further progress is left to the skiers.
At the beginning, the NSC agreed with the town hall that it would transfer the bridges and other property to Harrachov free of charge in the form of a donation contract. However, the representatives of the ski association and Buchar’s association succeeded in the court with a request to issue a preliminary injunction prohibiting the transfer and subsequently filed a lawsuit against Harrachov. They argue that they did not know about the transfer in advance, which the town hall denies. Harrachov later withdrew from the disputed contract, which was welcomed by the union.
Because of this, Vít Háček ended his post as director of the NSC, who, according to the ski association, went against the wishes of two of the three members of the association and concluded a donation agreement. Josef Nechutný became the new director of NSC.
Harrach’s change to the position of NSC chairman bothers the representatives. According to the mayor of Vašiček, the change took place without authorization.
“In my opinion, it’s all just a power struggle for hills and property. We will therefore make every effort to prevent this from happening,” Vašíček told Novinkám, adding that the city would like to file a criminal complaint.
The skiers’ union does not yet know when the work on the repair of the bridge will be able to continue. According to Trávníček, funding is not guaranteed, as the National Sports Agency (NSA) has not even announced the corresponding subsidy program. The reconstruction of the bridge should be in charge of the National Sports Center (NSC), which was created by the Skiers’ Union of the Czech Republic with the city and the local Bukhara Association. The association, with the help of volunteers, is trying to get the small and medium-sized bridges operational for the winter, but currently the NSC is cut off from electricity and water in the area in Harrachov.
