The creators of “Cobra Kai,” Jon Hurwitz,Hayden Schlossberg,and Josh Heald,are set to write a new sequel to the comedy “harold & Kumar.” Mandate Pictures will produce the film, with Hurwitz and Schlossberg also directing.


While no deals are finalized,stars John Cho and Kal Penn are expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming film.

In a joint statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg expressed their excitement: “We’re fired up to bring Harold and Kumar back in a return to the unapologetically R-rated, smoke-filled chaos that started it all. It’s high time they puff and pass their wisdom onto a new generation. Just don’t tell their kids.”

The “Harold & Kumar” franchise includes “Harold & Kumar Go to White castle” (2004), “Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay” (2008), and “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” (2011).
