Greeting the Year 2025 with Hope and Wisdom
As the pages of 2024 turn to a new year, it’s natural for many of us to feel a mixture of relief and anticipation. Relief at having bid farewell to the setbacks of 2024 and anticipation for what the fresh year might bring. Let’s hope that 2025 marks a turning point for better times ahead.
Inspirational Words from Enver Hoxha
In his 1967 New Year message, Albanian Stalinist dictator Enver Hoxha offered some unique insights that resonate with many of our sentiments today. His words, while rooted in a different historical context, still hold a modicum of wisdom for anyone navigating the complexities of change:
“This year will be harder than last year. On the other hand, it will be easier than next year.”
Hoxha’s message, paradoxical as it may seem, encourages us to embrace the challenges of the present while maintaining hope for the future. By acknowledging the difficulties, we can appreciate the progress we make as each year passes.
Happy New Year!
As we step into 2025, let us carry forward the spirit of resilience and the optimism embodied in Hoxha’s words. May this new year bring not only growth but also moments of joy and peace.
