Hanwha Ocean was named in the final final group of the Canadian Submarine Procurement Project (CPSP), which is up to 60 trillion won. In the final final, he plays a two -wave battle with Germany’s Tissen Roof Marine Systems (TKMS).

Hanwha Ocean announced on the 26th that the Canadian Navy was selected as a candidate for the project to introduce 12 3000t submarines.

The procurement project is a project to replace four Victoria (2400t) submarines, introduced by the Canadian Navy in 1998. Hanwha Ocean has been competing to win procurement business with leading defense companies in Europe, including TKMS in Germany, Nabal Group in France, Nabantia and Sweden Saber.

Hanwha Ocean proposed a 3000t-class ‘Jangbo-III-2’, which has the best operational performance among the existing diesel submarines in addition to the nuclear-powered submarine. This submarine can be underwater operational for more than three weeks using ‘air streaming devices (AIP)’ and lithium -ion batteries that do not require air, and can operate up to 7000 nauticals (about 12,900 km). It also has a vertical launcher that can fire ballistic missiles.

Fast delivery capabilities and localization strategies were also well received. An official from Hanwha Ocean said, “Submarines usually take more than nine years before the contract concluded, but I am confident to shorten it to six years.”

The industry believes that the qualified candidate will have a positive impact on export competition for Poland, where the entry of the qualified candidate is preparing to introduce submarines. As part of the Naval Modernization Project, Poland is conducting a procedure for selecting the Orca Project, which introduces three submarines within the year, and has no choice but to watch the results of the eligible candidate for Canada, a NATO member. The Orca Project is expected to be up to 8 trillion won if it includes maintenance and repair business.

Chung Seung -kyun, head of the Overseas Business Division, Hanwha Ocean Special Ship Division, said, “Hanwha Ocean has been striving to win the CPSP business with the ‘one team’ in support of the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Agency, the Navy, and the National Assembly. I will definitely reap the ‘Beauty of Yujong’ called business orders. ”
