As summer approaches, seoul’s historic Unhyeon Palace is set to become a vibrant hub of cultural activity. From May through June, the palace will host a series of special programs designed to immerse visitors in conventional Korean arts and culture.These events offer a unique possibility to experience the serenity and beauty of a hanok (traditional Korean house) setting while enjoying diverse performances and activities.

Harmonies in a Hanok: The Unhyeon Gung Hanok Concert
On May 24th, at 1 PM, the palace will resonate with the sounds of the “Unhyeon Gung Hanok Concert.” This free event showcases artists selected through a public competition, presenting a blend of genres from popperas to traditional Korean music. the concert provides a tranquil backdrop of the historic hanok, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees. No reservations are required, making it accessible to all who wish to attend.
Stargazing and History: ‘Star Star Night’ at Unhyeon Palace
For those seeking a more celestial experience, the ‘Star Star Night’ event on May 30th at 6:30 PM offers a chance to explore the night sky from the palace grounds. This popular program combines a guided night tour of Unhyeon Palace with stargazing, allowing participants to appreciate the beauty of the early summer constellations. Spaces are limited to 15 teams, with a participation fee of ₩15,000 per person. reservations are required through the Unhyeon palace Naver reservation system.

Step Back in Time: Unhyeon Cruise
Next month, on June 13th at 6:30 PM, Unhyeon Palace will host the second iteration of “Unhyeon Cruise,” an interactive program that invites visitors to imagine themselves as guests of Heungseon Daewon-gun, a prominent figure in Korean history. Participants can engage in activities such as crafting debt (traditional Korean knots) with soldiers, practicing calligraphy, and creating their own knot bracelets. The participation fee is ₩15,000 per person, and 40 pre-applications will be accepted through the Unhyeon Palace Naver reservation system starting May 23rd at 3 PM.
