Of course she was afraid. The project is quite insolence in quotation marks. At the same time, the idea seemed brilliant to him. It does not copy the original film, but offers its female version.
I like the fact that director Ruda Biermann had the courage to do it and approach it so that one must not be stopped by fears that a few people will heal a few people. When we filmed, I was happy to go for it. Already because of Rud, story and meeting with girls, including Zuzana Bydžovská, which is a complete legend for me (The four main characters are complemented by Alžběta Ferencová and Judit Pecháček – note. Red.).
Your character’s model is Mads Mikkelsen. Did you not think about it while filming?
Yes, it is because it is a female variant. When four girls are together, it’s really something else than when a bunch of guys meet.
I have heard the rights to the male version of Leonardo DiCaprio. This is probably the only one that can fight with direct confrontation.
Nevertheless, I had the final scene from the original in which Mads Mikkelsen dances, who had studied ballet for many years. It is so beautiful that I wondered if we should omit it, because Mads has an amazing dance talent.
Zuzka Bydžovská, however, kept telling me to give up that the most important thing is to be authentic. This is the greatest strength and magic of everyone, and it’s not about how one is talented. I made the scene according to myself. When you try to imitate another person in anything, there may be a trouble.

Since last year’s alcoholic notebook (The film by director Dan Svátek according to the book of the same name Michaela Duffková – note. Red.) It seems to me an extremely interesting, yet creeping theme. It is still said that men in the Czech Republic drink mainly men, although female alcoholism is ubiquitous. The problem is far greater than we may have thought so far.
Today, the trend is not to drink at all. How are you thinking about it?
I have always suffered from terrible hangover, which protected me in the years I could party. At the time I went to DAMU, it was a social thing to meet over wine or beer. Today I usually drink a glass of wine and end, otherwise I would be sick.
I traveled a number of countries and understood that, with the exception of specific groups of teenagers, people do not meet to get drunk. They take a glass, meet for dinner, go to the concert, but they rarely are their intention to get drunk. The fact that the younger generation does not drink virtually at all seems fantastic.

Did you prepare for a realistic rendition of slight drunkenness so you don’t fall into a cartoon?
Not really. I already have experience with her and I have seen her captured in many movies.
Someone asked me if we didn’t drink during the filming. We did not do that, nor is it possible. Maybe with some production that counts on making one picture a day, and it takes it as a way of filming. Usually you have several scenes in a day and you have to work in all. Plus, you have twelve -hour shifts, so you can’t really demolish yourself.

How did you build chemistry and confidence with the acting colleagues so that the audience believes your friendship?
I knew everyone from earlier projects or from the Prague scene. Nevertheless, we had such a several -day concentration before filming. We went to Moravia, we were just together and talked about the script. We even changed into film costumes and went to dinner. That helped us.
During the filming in Mikulov we all lived in the same hotel, where we had a common terrace. In four we lived there, talked about life, made tea, tried texts, and all this contributed to building a relationship.
The concentration is unusual due to the cost and acting commitments, but in this case it turned out to be essential. The film was strongly reflected.

In the film under steam, you examine the boundary of alcohol addiction, in the film Border of Love you came across the limits of physical intimacy. Are you attracted to the border sliding?
Very. It keeps me in feeling lively. It is probably natural for each of us.
The moment you stagnate in one world you discovered and in one truth, it may happen that the world will no longer suit you in a few years. If you refuse to move on or change your view of the thing, I think you can easily feel emptiness. One should ask yourself whether he still enjoys the things he does, and if not what he can do to change them.
Is this a reason why you and director Tomasz Wiński have been involved in screenwriting in recent years?
Certainly yes. I seek activities that will provide me butterflies in my stomach and healthy fear. I do not push for success, the road itself is great.
How far are your LIVE projects and a dangerous weekend?
They are written, now we are in the stage of money. I play the main tasks in the films. But I leave the role of the screenwriter when I enter the set.
