An unprecedented Israeli attack in Qatar on Tuesday targeted a building that includes the negotiating delegation for Hamas, killing six people who are the son of one of its leading leaders and its chief negotiator Khalil al -Hayya, the director of his office and three of his companions, in addition to a Qatari security man.
“This crime was not merely an assassination attempt for the delegation. Rather, it is the bombing and assassination of the entire negotiating path.”
He also referred to “the injury of the wife (al -Hayya) and the wife of his martyr son and his grandchildren” in the attack, without revealing the fate of the movement’s leaders who were at the building.
Barhoum accused the United States of being a “full partner” in the Israeli attack.
He stated that “the American administration is a complete partner in this crime by bearing political and moral responsibility by providing cover and continuous support for the occupation aggression and its ongoing crimes against our people.”

-An anticipated Arab-Islamic conference-
Israel bombed Doha on Tuesday, targeting Hamas leaders, but the movement said that its senior officials survived.
The unprecedented Israeli attack in the Gulf country was disturbed by the prevailing calm in the Gulf region, which is proud and promoted for itself as an oasis of peace in the troubled Middle East.
The attack was met with severe condemnation and solidarity from the Gulf countries.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Thursday that “any attack on a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council is an attack on the joint Gulf security system.”
For its part, Hamas explained that the dead are Hammam, the son of a chief negotiator of the movement, Khalil Al -Hayya, and his office manager Jihad Labad, in addition to his companions Ahmed Mamlouk, Abdullah Abdul Wahid and Moamen Hassoun.
There were no evidence indicating the presence of the serpent at the funeral, according to video clips seen by Agence France -Presse.
As for the Qatari security element who was killed, he is the agent, Corporal Badr Saad Muhammad Al -Hamidi Al -Dossari.
In an interview with the American “CNN” station on Wednesday, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that he could not confirm the fate of Khalil al -Hayya.
The Prime Minister considered that the attack ended every hope of the hostages in Gaza, stressing that Qatar “re -evaluating everything” related to its role as a major mediator in the talks between Israel and Hamas.
Doha hosted several rounds of indirect negotiations between the two parties.
Qatar has been hosting the political bureau of the Palestinian movement since 2012 with the blessing of Washington, which sought to keep a communication channel with Hamas.
Sheikh Muhammad said that he hopes a regional collective response to the attack, and that an Arab-Islamic conference will be held in Doha to take a decision on the next steps.
And the former head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was previously buried in Qatar, after Israel assassinated him in Tehran in July 2024.
