Five soldiers of the Israeli army, including two officers, were seriously injured and six others slightly injured in an attack on Hamas against a military camp in Gaza earlier on Monday, the army announced.
The incident began around 5:25 p.m. when a cell of five members of Hamas infiltrated a military camp and sparked two explosive devices against a tank of the 82nd battalion of the 7th armored brigade.
The soldiers of the camp exchanged fire with the armed men, killing at least two of them, one by a tank of chariot and the other during a close fight, according to the Israeli army.
The Israeli army is currently looking for the three armed men of Hamas who managed to flee from the camp after the attack.
During the incident, a military doctor, a tank officer and three soldiers from the 82nd battalion were seriously injured, according to the Israeli army. Six other soldiers were slightly injured.
The soldiers were all transported to the hospital and their families were informed.
