According to Marcus persson of Gamereactor.cn, the most famous Forge team, The Forge Falcon, has announced their departure from the game, citing a lack of compensation or even acknowledgment for their contributions.

The forge mode, which allows players to create and modify maps, was initially introduced in Halo 3 and gained notable popularity with Halo: Reach. While Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite saw successful iterations of the mode, the community-driven content has been crucial in sustaining Halo Infinite, especially after Halo Studios shifted its focus to future projects and adopted the Unreal engine.

The forge Falcon expressed their frustration on X, stating: “We feel about halo & Forge. I’ve seen some discussion on this issue recently, so, from the obvious start, there’s no reason for forgers to still not get meaningful compensation.None of us started making things, hoping we’ll get compensation, and never expected that, as far as we no, no forger in the community did that.But seeing your work being used in the promotional material for the game, covered with the game and displayed in the match, you didn’t even recieve a simple sincere thank you or anything that made us feel appreciated, except for the marketing campaigns of the game, it’s just a weird feeling.” [1]
