According to reports from Portugal, Viktor Gyökeres has rejected a move to
Manchester United.

The Swedish striker was linked with a reunion with his former Lisbon
manager, Ruben Amorim, at Old Trafford. though, reports suggest that
Gyökeres has dismissed the possibility of joining the Red Devils, with his
representatives reportedly giving United the cold shoulder.

Arsenal is now reportedly in the lead to sign the Swedish star, following
Gyökeres’ recent comments on the transfer rumors surrounding his future.

Sporting Lisbon previously rejected a £55 million offer from Arsenal, who
reportedly hoped to sign the former Coventry player for a lower fee.

Gyökeres addressed the situation on Instagram, stating: “There are many
talks at the moment, most are false. I will speak when the time comes.”

Sporting president Frederico Varandas has also commented, insisting that
the club will not be pressured during the summer transfer window. He
stated firmly: “Threats, blackmail, and insults do not work with me. I
can guarantee that Viktor Gyökeres will not leave for 60 million euros +
10 million pounds Sterling + 8.5 million pounds sterling because I have
never promised him. this game that the agent plays is only aggravating
the situation. To date,sport has not had any offer for Viktor
Gyökeres,nor the last season.”

Varandas added, “The process started last year at the end of the season,
sport was champion and had a fantastic season. During the transfer
window, we realized that viktor was going to stay at Sporting because we
did not receive a single offer for him.”

“When the season started, the agent approached Hugo Viana several times,
asking if we could add additional costs to the contract if he marked
objectives ‘X’. I gave Viana the prospect to negotiate, in reason.”
