Gyeongbuk Health: Infectious Disease Evaluation ‘Suitable

쯔쯔가무시증·홍역 등 총 44개 검사 항목에서 우수한 검사능력 입증

The Gyeongbuk Institute of Health and Environment announced on the 26th that it was judged ‘suitable’ in all items in the 2025 infectious disease pathogen diagnosis and testing ability proficiency assessment hosted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.

In accordance with the ‘Act on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases’, the researcher participates in the proficiency assessment conducted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency every year to ensure the accuracy of infectious disease diagnostic tests and the reliability of test results. In this year’s evaluation, a total of 44 items were evaluated, including culture tests, antigen/antibody tests, and gene detection tests for 36 types of pathogens, including typhus and measles, and the researcher was judged ‘suitable’ in all items.

In particular, this year’s newly added test items for intestinal parasites, including liver flukes, lung flukes, intestinal flukes, and diaphyseal parasites, were all judged ‘suitable’, maintaining the qualifications as a testing and inspection agency in the field, and recognized for the highest level of reliability and accuracy in the field of infectious disease diagnostic tests.

An official from the research institute said, “We were able to further increase the trust of the residents as an inspection agency by receiving a satisfactory judgment in all items of the proficiency evaluation,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to protect the health of the residents by increasing accuracy and reliability through continuous strengthening of inspection capabilities and participation in proficiency evaluation.”
