Gwacheon City Corporation announced on the 14th that in relation to an incident where larvae were found in tap water in some areas within the jurisdiction, both water quality tests were judged ‘suitable’.
The corporation did not detect any midge larvae in the water quality test conducted on the 7th, and this is the second result proving the safety of drinking water following the water quality test on the 30th of last month.
In order to resolve civil unrest, the Corporation completely replaced the microfiltration (UF) filters in water purifiers at business sites, confirming once again that the drinking water in public facility water purifiers is hygienically safe.
Going forward, the corporation plans to maintain a drinking water environment that citizens can use with confidence by strengthening hygiene management, such as monthly internal disinfection of water purifiers, regular water quality tests, and periodic replacement of filters.
A construction official said, “Both tests were found to be suitable, and the filter was quickly replaced to reduce citizen anxiety. Going forward, we will continue to thoroughly manage water quality based on the trust of citizens.”
Meanwhile, this measure by the Gwacheon City Corporation is the result of a quick response that considers citizen safety as the top priority, and is expected to further strengthen citizen trust through these efforts.
