The model restaurant system, introduced in 1996, has been used as one of the indicators of restaurant evaluation, but as the hygiene rating system was enforced in 2017, the abolition of the law was decided in March.
The hygiene rating system is characterized by the evaluation of the certification evaluation of restaurants in three stages, such as ‘very excellent’, ‘excellent’, and ‘good’, and more than 170 businesses in the Guri area have received hygiene grade certification.
The city is also strengthening the system promotion so that citizens who are not yet familiar with the hygiene rating system do not suffer confusion during the transition to the certification system, and also promoting the Waguri restaurant, a certified restaurant.
The Waguri restaurant, introduced in 2023, is a brand of Guri -si, which comprehensively evaluates taste, hygiene, services, and facilities, and is designated as Waguri restaurant.
The city plans to continue to promote until the time of abolition of exemplary restaurants, and to support hygiene restaurants so that the waguri restaurant and sanitary grade system can be replaced by consumers.
An official from Guri City said, “If a business that wants to participate in the hygiene rating system, it can be guided by the City Hall Sanitation Policy Team to receive guidance on the designation process.”
