Wei Desheng once wrote “Seedek.” “Bale” shocked the film industry, and the years-long debt and legal disputes between investor Gou Taiqiang finally came to an end last year. After many lawsuits and defense, the two parties finally made public settlement on the grounds that “the document is long and a misunderstanding is a matter of” Wei Desheng personally apologized to Guo Taiqiang, saying that he would focus on film and television creation in the future and return to the director’s career.
Looking back at the whole story, the 2011 movie “Seedek”. After the release of Barrel, it swept the Golden Horse Awards with a box office of more than 800 million yuan. However, the investment and equity disputes behind the film have been burned for many years. Guo Taiqiang accused Wei Desheng of failing to pay off his debt of 45 million yuan and applying for enforcement with a promissory note, resulting in the property of the company “Fruit Movie” located on Nanjing East Road, Taipei City, under Wei Desheng’s name, being seized and publicly auctioned.

Wei Desheng countered the charge of Terry Gou’s forced fraud, claiming that after the two sides cooperated to make a film, Guo not only obtained the government’s subsidy of 800 million yuan and copyright, but later forced him to sign promissory notes and equity transfer documents in the name of a fictitious loan. He therefore filed a lawsuit against the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office for fraud, forgery of documents and treason. However, the Beijing Procuratorate determined that all relevant documents were signed by Wei Desheng, and there was insufficient evidence. In June last year, Guo Taiqiang and others ruled not to sue. Wei Desheng filed a lawsuit against him, but the High Court rejected it again in February this year and ordered him to bear 6.122,000 yuan in litigation fees.
