With The Cost Of Living Very High, It…

This Thursday in the Encuentro interview with Julio Villagrán, the national coordinator of the national health forum, Morena Murillo, mentioned that at the beginning of this government the health reform was going to be deepened, which had achieved achievements such as the vaccination scheme, reduction in maternal and infant death, among other advances, however what has been seen is the little health coverage in the communities, replaced by occasional health days.

“With the cost of living very high, it is very difficult for people to cover the high costs of laboratories, tests, medications and specialists, the situation is going to be difficult for people with fewer resources.” Murillo highlights.

For Murillo, it is necessary to take health promotion actions to avoid diseases, since if people have health protective factors in their communities, it will be easier to address their health problems.

“If the problems are not attended to or are not seen at the time of the protective factors that guarantee people’s health, we do not have the capacity for all people to be cured or have decent treatment in a third level health system. ” expresses the national coordinator of the national health forum

Consequential Student Uprisings: The Challenges Facing College Administrators

Student Uprising: Protests on College Campuses

Student Uprising: Protests on College Campuses ‘We’ve never lived in normal times’

When police raided a protester encampment at Columbia University last week, the students at Yale were ready, tracking every minute of the chaos that followed with their smartphones on social media. If students at the New York City Ivy League school were going to risk arrest, they would, too. By the next morning, Yale demonstrators had pitched their own tents. On a Zoom call that day, more than 200 students from dozens of other colleges across the country were strategizing on how they could replicate Columbia’s protest.

“We talked about what it was like to recruit people and join, and what it meant to stand in solidarity together, and what it would look like if these camps started popping up everywhere,” said Soph Askanase, 21-year-old junior at Barnard College who was arrested at Columbia.

What followed was the start of what historians now call one of the most consequential student uprisings the nation has seen in recent times. Though officials hope the tensions calm when classes end next month, the protests have become a crisis for college administrators struggling to rein in demonstrations while juggling competing demands to combat antisemitic rhetoric and permit students’ right to free speech.

King Charles, Health Worries. Operation Menai Bridge Begins

LONDON – Operation “Menai Bridge” has begun. The name, which refers to a bridge connecting the Isle of Anglesey to Wales, is the code name for the funeral preparations for King Charles III, who was Prince of Wales for most of his life.

It is completely normal for Buckingham Palace to organize the King’s funeral ceremony well in advance and down to the smallest detail: the document of hundreds of pages was created in September 2022, immediately after Elizabeth II’s funeral. Operation “London Bridge”, the code name for the Queen’s funeral, was ready to begin decades before her disappearance.

The fact that the Menai Bridge operation is being upgraded is therefore normal practice. However, given that the King is suffering from cancer, the news has triggered rumours, indiscretions, alleged revelations and banal gossip.

When Buckingham Palace announced the cancer diagnosis last February, he made it clear that there would not be regular updates on the King’s state of health. There remained absolute confidentiality as to what type of cancer it is and at what stage and what type of care Charles III is receiving. It seems to be radiotherapy, given that he has to regularly go to hospital in London,

Halsema In Open Letter: Jewish Fellow Citizens Experience…

#Halsema #open #letter #Jewish #fellow #citizens #experience #intimidation #aggression

Mayor Halsema, together with other Dutch mayors, has written an open letter in which she speaks out against rising anti-Semitism. The mayors call, among other things, not to make inappropriate comparisons with the Holocaust and not to use slogans that hurt or intimidate others.

The mayors write that the number of anti-Semitic incidents increased even more after the Hamas attacks on October 7. “The statistics say it, but we already knew it from the contacts we maintain with our Jewish residents. Online, on the street, in the classroom, at the sports club and at our universities and colleges: everywhere, Jewish townspeople and villagers experience anti- Jewish intimidation and aggression.”

They emphasize that criticism of the Israeli government is not anti-Semitism. “But holding Jewish people responsible for the actions of that government, just because they are Jewish, is. Intimidating, abusing or even physically attacking Jewish people is anti-Semitic and punishable. We stand for freedom of expression and the freedom to demonstrate, but we do not accept anti-Semitism.”
