Oscar Sisto has never forgotten the young singer he saw blossom before his eyes. His disappearance remains a still open wound for the ex-Star Academy teacher.

During his passage in The Buzz TVsOscar Sisto went back to the time when he taught theater at the castle of Dammarie les Lys. This period was marked by the exceptional presence of Grégory Lemarchal, revealed in 2004 during season four. With his unique voice and rare maturity, the young artist had established himself as evidence even from the first weeks of the competition. Teachers and students alike knew he would go far. Karima Charni even said it in Télé 7 Jours, explaining that no one doubted her victory. After winning the competition against Lucie Bernardoni, Grégory Lemarchal had a dazzling start to his career before cystic fibrosis suddenly interrupted his destiny in 2007, at only twenty-three years old. For Oscar Sisto, this shock is still very difficult to accept.

Asked about the young singer’s trajectory, Oscar Sisto first recalled the state of mind that reigned during the season. According to him, everyone knew that Grégory would end up victorious, but everyone had still played the game of the competition. He explained that the season could have been ruined if the other students had decided to give up, as the singer’s talent was so obvious. Then the conversation shifted to a more intimate question. That of mourning, still impossible for the ex-teacher. His words were simple but profoundly impactful. “I can’t grieve yet.” Many years later, his pain remains strong.

A closeness that continues with the Lemarchal family

Oscar Sisto explained that he still remained very close to Grégory’s parents. He works regularly at the Grégory Lemarchal house, which supports people affected by cystic fibrosis. He admires the courage and lucidity of Laurence and Pierre Lemarchal. Their way of talking about their son, with dignity and modesty, moved him deeply. He evokes this pain softened by time among them, mixed with a form of peace, because they were able to accompany their son until the end. Conversely, Oscar Sisto confided that he was unable to witness his last moments. It is this precise absence which, according to him, makes his mourning so complicated. He ends by recalling how Grégory was an extraordinary person.

Grégory’s sister also shares precious memories

A few weeks ago, Leslie Lemarchal also spoke to talk about the impact of Star Academy on her teenage life. She remembered living the season as if she were part of it, recording each day and organizing her schedule around the program. She also confided that her brother, who was very protective, had been afraid of disrupting her schooling. His own words are still etched in his memory. “If Star Ac has any impact on you, I would blame myself.” A sentence which shows, once again, the gentleness and kindness of Grégory Lemarchal. Memories that his family and those who knew him continue to carry with tenderness and admiration.
